The Constituent Relationship Management system is CiviCRM. The major enhancement requested this year is to format Special Olympics' historical MS Excel donation records for import into CiviCRM. At last year's GiveCamp, we learned CiviCRM's data import functions and manually formatted and imported donation records for 2011 and 2012. Given the total amount of data to yet to format (10 years—2000 to 2010), we are looking for volunteers with programming, database, and data transformation skills who could automate the formatting process as much as possible.
Other technical needs for CiviCRM at this year's GiveCamp focus on research and client education. We are seeking some technical "generalists" with the ability to learn new material, as well as strong writing skills. These volunteers will devise and document how Special Olympics could best use CiviCRM to do the following: (1) thank-you notes to donors; (2) key contact tracking; and (3) automated duplicate contact record merging.
We are also seeking a volunteer with system administration skills who could devise and document how Special Olympics should backup and restore its WordPress and CiviCRM systems. The organization would also like a volunteer to devise a migration plan for upgrade to the latest CiviCRM version.
Finally, Special Olympics is seeking a volunteer technical writer, documentation specialist, or web page content specialist to consolidate and organize all the material we hope to have the technical volunteers writing for us at this year's GiveCamp.
The mission of The Healing Hands Foundation is to sustainably provide high quality surgical procedures, medical treatment, dental care, and educational support in under resourced areas worldwide. We establish strong in-country partnerships to involve local communities in our activities: treating patients, improving health care infrastructure, and providing needed medical training to surgeons, doctors, and community health care workers. Going beyond providing direct patient care, we aim to create a long-term impact, empowering impoverished countries to improve the health and quality of life of their own people.
We provide holistic services to men, women, children, seniors, and families, particularly those people others have discarded and refuse to work with. The center offers a variety of human services such as: Parenting/ child support assistance, Life Skills, Pre-Employment assistance, Homeless assistance, housing, job placement and job referrals and connection to health insurance and medical care.
The Executive Director and the staff currently rely on paper-based files similar to nursing charts to keep track of clients, their periodic visits, and the plans of action and referrals. They would like to replace the paper with a simple web application that stores client profiles, records visits and action plans and generally tracks clients and can be used to generate periodic and annual reports of their client activities to simplify grant applications that MFC submits as part of its funding.
Therefore, we need designers/technical developers who have experience in web app development, simple database transaction processing linked to web site forms, and simple reporting of client visits and interventions. Only a small number of personnel would use this to log the information and migration of existing data is open to different approaches. There is no desire for a substantial back end network or significant support costs so as much as possible, the client profile and visit recording applications should use zero or low-cost hosting platform. In addition, another priority (for now or later, the Tech Lead will be making recommendations on this) is to have a simple donor contribution web page that is public-facing and use Paypal or similar app to enable contributors to donate and that would track their profiles and donation records.

Business Need: GiveCamp 2011 and 2012 provided the Webb Group with a functional website to create a web presence for the organization and help communicate with the on-line community. The website has increased the web presence but display errors within the site on web site itself and problems with the calendar of events page are needed. Additionally, the Webb Group would like: to show links with business partners and help provide cross marketing with these partners and to add an academic area of support page within the website that would allow youngsters needing homework/other academic support to e-mail a teacher in that subject area.
